Costa Rica Tour

These are leaf-cutter ants. In the upper picture, the big guy is almost finished cutting off a chunk of the leaf. In the middle, he's severed a section, and in the bottom picture he's getting it ready to carry it back to the nest.

The background is a photo of the trail that zillions of leaf-cutter ants make between the plants they defoliate and their nest.
